Yes. Every chart is a genuine US equity intraday session, replayed from historical market data — 5-minute candles, stopped at the moment a trader would have had to decide, showing only what was visible then. Market data is provided for free by IEX.
No. SwipeTA connects to no broker, exchange or wallet. There is nothing to deposit and nothing to withdraw, and in-app scores cannot be transferred to other users or exchanged for anything of real-world value.
We make no such claim, and we would be sceptical of an app that did. SwipeTA is practice: it shows you historical setups, records every call you made, and shows you where you hesitate and what you tend to get wrong. Results in the app are produced from historical data and say nothing about future markets, or about how anyone would perform trading real money. It is not investment advice.
Yes, and the practice is unlimited. SwipeTA PRO is an optional auto-renewing subscription that adds deeper review tools, all board themes and shorter waits; its price and billing period vary by region and are shown in the app before you buy, and it can be cancelled any time in the store you bought it from. The training content itself is never behind it.
A paper-trading app simulates placing orders in a live market, with a portfolio to manage. SwipeTA does one thing: it replays a historical session, freezes it, and asks for a single call that settles in seconds. There is no order ticket, no portfolio and no broker connection — the subject being practised is reading the chart, not operating a trading platform.
Four things are fixed before you ever see a chart. The bars are 5-minute US equity intraday, regular session only — not hand-picked pretty charts, just the kind of session that happens every day. The horizon is 15 minutes, set when the question is written and never chosen afterwards to suit the answer. Moves are filtered to between one and three times ATR, so there are no coin-flips and no gifts. And the bank is balanced 50/50 between up and down, so you cannot farm a score by always swiping up. Each of those is a decision in the question generator, and the reasoning for all of them is written out on the methodology page.
No. In the competitive modes the round is run on the server: the app is sent the chart but never the answer. Your call is submitted back and verified server-side, so what happens next cannot be read out of the app.
By the close of the 5-minute candle 15 minutes after the decision point, compared with the close at the decision point. Higher counts as up, lower as down; an exact tie is recorded as up, which effectively never occurs at real tick sizes. No fees, spread, slippage or leverage enter the judgement — the question is direction only.
US equities, intraday, regular session only (09:30–15:59 ET). The question bank is built from 5-minute candles across different stocks, times of day and market conditions, and continues to expand.
Seconds. You are shown the chart, you swipe, and the outcome plays forward immediately. Competitive modes put a timer on the call, and how long that timer is depends on the mode.
Yes. Classic mode is a set of curated stages, each built around one chart-reading idea, and it is where a new user starts. No prior trading experience is assumed, and nothing in the app requires a brokerage account.
Yes. SwipeTA is on the App Store and on Google Play. It is a phone app rather than a website — there is nothing to sign in to in a browser.

SwipeTA is designed and produced by GOLD, a designer who came to it from independent game design — which is why a chart-reading tool is built as gamified training, with modes, ranks and a collection, rather than as a dashboard. An account is required — sign in with Google, with Apple, or with an email address — so your progress and rank follow you across devices. You can delete your account and its data at any time from inside the app, or by emailing support; the process is described at swipeta.net/delete-account.
